Fronius Tig DynamicWire: Smarter TIG Cold Wire Welding
TIG Cold Wire Welding Made Easier: A Closer Look at Fronius TIG DynamicWire
Anyone who has spent time TIG welding knows that when everything comes together, the results can be excellent.
5556 / AlMg5Mn Aluminium TIG Wire is a high-strength aluminium-magnesium filler metal designed for applications where increased weld strength, good ductility and excellent corrosion resistance are required. Alloyed primarily with approximately 5% magnesium along with manganese, ER5556 is particularly well suited to demanding structural aluminium fabrication.
Commonly referred to as ER5556, 5556 Aluminium TIG Wire, AlMg5Mn TIG Wire or 5556 TIG Rods, this filler metal is widely used for welding suitable 5xxx-series aluminium alloys, particularly where higher as-welded strength is required than can typically be achieved with more general-purpose fillers such as 5356.
The magnesium and manganese alloying additions help provide strong, durable weld deposits with good mechanical properties, making 5556 a popular choice for heavily loaded aluminium structures and components.
Typical applications for 5556 aluminium TIG wire include structural aluminium fabrication, marine and offshore work, transport equipment, commercial vehicles, railway applications, pressure-related fabrication and heavy-duty general engineering, subject to the requirements of the parent material and applicable welding procedure.
Key features: high-strength aluminium-magnesium filler, approximately 5% magnesium with manganese additions, excellent corrosion resistance, good ductility and toughness, strong mechanical properties, suitable for many 5xxx-series aluminium alloys, and ideal for demanding structural and marine fabrication.
