Fronius Tig DynamicWire: Smarter TIG Cold Wire Welding
TIG Cold Wire Welding Made Easier: A Closer Look at Fronius TIG DynamicWire
Anyone who has spent time TIG welding knows that when everything comes together, the results can be excellent.
316L Stainless Steel TIG Wire is a premium austenitic stainless steel filler rod designed primarily for TIG welding 316, 316L and other compatible molybdenum-bearing stainless steels. It offers excellent weldability together with very good corrosion resistance, making it particularly suitable for applications exposed to moisture, chemicals, marine environments and other corrosive conditions.
Commonly referred to as 316 TIG Wire, 316L TIG Wire, ER316L TIG Rods, 19 12 3 L TIG Wire or Stainless Steel TIG Filler Rod, it is one of the most widely used stainless TIG fillers for professional fabrication, pipework and process-industry applications.
One of the main advantages of 316L TIG wire is the addition of molybdenum (Mo).
A typical ER316L TIG wire contains approximately 18–20% chromium, 11–14% nickel and 2–3% molybdenum. The molybdenum improves resistance to corrosion, particularly pitting corrosion in chloride-containing environments, compared with non-molybdenum stainless grades.
This makes 316L particularly popular for equipment and components used in marine, chemical, pharmaceutical, food-processing and other demanding environments.
