Fronius Tig DynamicWire: Smarter TIG Cold Wire Welding
TIG Cold Wire Welding Made Easier: A Closer Look at Fronius TIG DynamicWire
Anyone who has spent time TIG welding knows that when everything comes together, the results can be excellent.
5356 / AlMg5 Aluminium TIG Wire is one of the most widely used aluminium-magnesium filler metals, offering an excellent combination of strength, corrosion resistance and reliable welding performance. Containing approximately 5% magnesium, ER5356 is a versatile aluminium TIG filler suitable for a wide range of fabrication, structural, marine and general engineering applications.
Commonly referred to as ER5356, 5356 Aluminium TIG Wire, AlMg5 TIG Wire or 5356 TIG Rods, this filler metal is widely used for welding 5xxx-series aluminium alloys and can also be used with many 6xxx-series alloys, subject to the requirements of the application.
Compared with silicon-based fillers such as 4043 / AlSi5, 5356 is generally selected where higher weld strength, greater ductility and good corrosion resistance are important. It can also provide a better colour match to the parent aluminium after anodising, making it useful where the appearance of the finished component is a consideration.
Key features: approximately 5% magnesium (AlMg5), high-strength aluminium filler metal, excellent corrosion resistance, good ductility, suitable for many 5xxx and 6xxx-series aluminium alloys, good colour match after anodising, and ideal for structural, marine and general fabrication.
