Fronius Tig DynamicWire: Smarter TIG Cold Wire Welding
TIG Cold Wire Welding Made Easier: A Closer Look at Fronius TIG DynamicWire
Anyone who has spent time TIG welding knows that when everything comes together, the results can be excellent.
304/308 Stainless Steel TIG Wire is one of the most commonly used stainless steel TIG filler metals, designed primarily for welding 304, 304L and other compatible 18Cr/8Ni austenitic stainless steels. It offers an excellent combination of corrosion resistance, weldability and clean weld appearance, making it a staple filler rod for stainless steel fabrication.
Although often referred to by customers as 304 TIG Wire or 304/308 TIG Wire, the filler itself is normally classified as 308L (ER308L) rather than 304. This is because the 308L filler composition is specifically designed for welding common 304-series stainless steels.
You may therefore see this product described as ER308L TIG Wire, 308L Stainless TIG Rods, 19 9 L TIG Wire, 304 Stainless TIG Wire or 304/308 TIG Rods.
304/308 stainless TIG wire is widely used across food and beverage equipment, commercial kitchens, tanks and vessels, pipework, architectural stainless fabrication, pharmaceutical equipment, furniture, general engineering, sheet-metal fabrication, maintenance and repair.
Its combination of corrosion resistance and attractive weld appearance makes it particularly useful for applications where the finished stainless steel component is both functional and visible.
Standard ER308L is commonly classified under EN ISO 14343-A as W 19 9 L for TIG rods. ER308LSi has increased silicon and is commonly classified as W 19 9 L Si. The additional silicon improves weld-pool fluidity and wetting, which can help produce a smoother-looking weld bead.
